Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) also saw a modest rise of 6.03%, reaching ₹5.98 crore.
The trend continued into Q2 FY2025 (September 2024), with sales declining by 21.35% year-over-year to ₹123.48 crore. Net profit for this quarter stood at ₹0.06 crore, marking a 57.14% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Earnings Per Share (EPS) also declined by 50% year-over-year, indicating a reduction in shareholder value.
For the full fiscal year ending March 2024, S.A.L. Steel reported a net profit of ₹0.47 crore, a sharp decline of 86.72% compared to ₹3.54 crore in the previous fiscal year. Despite a 16.32% increase in sales, which totaled ₹576.64 crore, the company’s profitability was adversely affected.
Looking ahead, S.A.L. Steel Ltd. faces a mixed outlook. The company has demonstrated resilience by maintaining profitability in certain quarters despite declining sales. However, the consistent decrease in net sales and profitability across recent quarters suggests challenges in sustaining growth.
